An 80 horsepower front wheel drive economy sedan is "fun to drive"? What the hell have they been driving? It's the 1968 Opel Kadett, all over again.
Toyota ads also tout is as being "fun to drive", leading me to believe this whole thing was done in the quest for political correctness. Fuck Motor Trend. |

#1, i don't see any political correctness in a "fun to drive" quote from Toyota.
Nevertheless - the Carmy - the Accord - or some BMW to take the win. But the Prius?

You miss my point. It's politically correct now to drive a hybrid and care (or pretend you care) about air quality and the myth that we're going to run out of gasoline.
What I'm saying is that everyone knows that a sub-100 horsepower economy car isn't going to be fun to drive. However Motor Trend says that it is, using the exact same terms as Toyota uses in their advertising, and since it obviously isn't (how could it be any more fun to drive than a Kia Rio?), this is leading me to believe that the only reason they made it "car of the year" was the pander to the environmentalist types. |
