#3, One more reason why I like motorsports over the stick and ball sports...

In most cases, half or more of the person's paycheck is performance-based, and contracts aren't as strict and can be broken. Also, there's no union.
(Many of the big-name stock car drivers in the late '60s tried forming a union, and ended up boycotting the 1969 Talladega race [due to what were considered unsafe speeds/tires]...NASCAR ran the race anyway, allowing people with "late model modifieds" to run the race also, to fill the field...NASCAR lost very little money over the matter, and the union gave up.)
