#1, Start->Settings->Control Panel->Sounds and Multimedia (or Audio Devices, whatever)->Audio tab. What does it say in the last box, Default Device for midi playback?
edit: And what does it let you choose from?

The "Default device" for MIDI music playback is
Microsoft GS Wavetable SW Synth
...and it only has that one choice in the dropdown menu. |

Huh, that should work--the GS software synth usually works so long as your computer can play .wav sounds. My only suggestion is to click on the volume control (in your system tray) and make sure that the MIDI is not muted or set too low for you to hear. Also, you might want to click Options->Properties and make sure that you are viewing ALL the controls. |

#5, >_<
SW Synth was muted in my Volume Control for some Godonlyknowsreason...
I like the song though...
"Coming down the line...is that the cat who chewed your new shoes..."
(Yes, I know it's actually "The Chatanooga ChooChoo") |

#6, I think the correct song title is "In The Mood" from the self titled album "Bette Midler".
In the mood (oh boy) be mine forever.
In the groove (that boy) and leave me never.
In the mood (oh joy) give me some kissing.
You know it won't be long
before you're in the mood!
